It's Never Too Late to Take Up Arms
Here's an excellent article on Reader's Digest Australia about Fellowship members Mike, Ann and Laura.

Three years ago, museum curator Mike Pickering was browsing a local newspaper’s What’s On column when a nearby medieval fair caught his eye. “I said to my daughter, Laura, who was 14 going on 15, ‘Let’s go and see the nerds.’ I remember that distinctly because I have suffered for it ever since.”
The weekend fair, put on by a historical re-enactment society called the Ancient Arts Fellowship, featured sword-fighting displays, medieval craft demonstrations and jousting. “Everyone was having great fun. We spent hours there and, as we were getting ready to leave, Laura said, ‘Dad, I want to do this.’” Mike and his wife, Ann, said yes: “Anything to encourage an interest, especially something active and outdoorsy, not just computer games.”
