Sitemap Uploaded to Google
I've uploaded a sitemap file to Google for this site.
Hopefully this will improve our Google presence.
Google robots apparently require a sitemap file on the site to index it properly, so I've used a handy utility to crawl the site and generate the sitemap file (boy, that took a long time over a dialup connection), which I then uploaded to Google.
Google should start crawling the site soon, which should ensure that we go up in the Google rankings. With any luck.
Not that this particular sitemap is all that effective to you guys. Don't worry about it. Search for things on Google occasionally and see whether we appear in the first couple of pages.
In other news, I've added a page to YourGuide - a site that appears to be run by the Canberra Times. I've taken some of the text from our front page, the front page of our old site, and the What We Do page, plus a couple of pictures of Mike and Steve to create the page.. I have no idea how members of the public can actually get to this page through random browsing, but there it is. Even when I do a search in the "local clubs" area of that site for "Ancient Arts Fellowship", our club appears 12th in the list. After, I might add, the Order of the White Stag.
Well, there you go. Can't possibly hurt, can it?
You can view the page here, if you really want to.
