Sorry for the short notice. Late tonight I had a long conversation with out network supplier. The news is somewhat of an annoyance and a problem for us, because we still do not have definite answers on some critical issues.

Essentially the upstream network supplier was sold to another company and the new owners are planning a rolling outage as they decided that Monday 30/04/2007 is a good day to make major adjustments to their newly acquired network.


This means that one of two things is going to happen:

a) there will be an outage and things will come back as they were network wise, no action on your part required.

b) there will be an outage and we will need to adjust network settings, including DNS delegations (if they were done by IP address and by not hostname).

As soon as I know what is actually happening, I will let you know, and contact each of you with new network details if necessary. Pleas bear in mind that Vandrad research labs is wholly dependant on third parties in this matter and we have little if any influence on the course of the events.

To aid me in this process, I would like you all to respond and provide me a contact telephone number and an email address. In the meantime, if you have any questions please use tmciolek@gmail.com as my other email addresses will be unreachable during the outage.
